TITLE: Graduate Assistantships in Genome Science and Technology
SUMMARY OF POSITION ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS:
The UT-ORNL Graduate School of Genome Science and Technology (GST) offers Graduate Assistantships for dissertation research leading to the PhD degree at the interface of experimental and computational biology. Plant biology projects in GST include computational biophysics, proteomics, cell and develomental biology, structural biology, nanotechnology of photosynthesis, bioenergy research, and many more. GST members are affiliated with the DOE-BESC Bioenergy Science Center, and have access to the singular spallation neutron source facility and a premier supercomputing infrastructure. GST is committed to full financialsupport for the entire training period. In addition, an NSF funded IGERT training grant provides fellowships for outstanding students motivated to pursue a program in computational biology. GST also welcomes applicants from minorities traditionally underrepresented in the sciences through the NIH-PEER training grant.
