iPlant Tools & Services

Which tools & services would you like to register for? Please check all that apply.

The Discovery Environment is one of the ways users can interact with iPlant Cyberinfrastructure. Rather than managing computing resource details, or learning new software for every type of analysis, the Discovery Environment (DE) allows you to handle all aspects of your bioinformatics workflow (e.g. data management, analysis, sharing large datasets, etc.) in one space. More Information
My-Plant.org is a social networking community for plant biologists, educators and other interested parties to come together to share information and research, collaborate, and stay on top of the latest developments in plant science. More Information
iPlant's Data Store provides a unified system for managing your data across iPlant's various tools and services. This data store provides a variety of means to manage your data, including within the Discovery Environment, in Atmosphere instances, using web-based tools, via the command line, through iPlant's Foundational API, and with third-party applications. iPlant's Data Store also provides the ability to transfer large amounts of data (>2GB), share those data with collaborators, tag your data with additional information, and analyze the data using iPlant's compute resources. More information
DNA Subway makes high-level genome analysis broadly available to students and educators and provides easy access to the types of data and informatics tools that drive modern biology. Using the intuitive metaphor of a subway map, DNA Subway organizes research-grade bioinformatics analysis tools into logical workflows and presents them in an appealing interface. More Information
If you selected DNA Subway above, please indicate how you plan to use DNA Subway:

The Integrated Breeding Platform (IBP) is a web-based, one-stop shop for information, analytical tools and related services to design and carry out integrated breeding projects. IBP is intended to boost crop productivity and resilience for smallholders in marginal environments by exploiting the economies of scale afforded by collective access to cutting-edge breeding technologies and informatics hitherto unavailable to developing-country breeders. The development of the Platform is a project bringing together numerous partners and several key funders, co-ordinated by the Generation Challenge Programme.

Atmosphere, the iPlant Collaborative's cloud infrastructure service platform, facilitates and addresses the growing need for highly configurable and cloud-enabled computational resources by the plant sciences research community. This resource creates on-demand linux servers with various pre-installed software stacks, and permits you to host your software as an on-demand service. NOTE: iPlant would like requests to Atmosphere to be accompanied with a description of their intent to use iPlant's cloud services. Depending on the description, iPlant staff may request a consultation to determine the best strategy in utilizing Atmosphere or other parts of iPlant's cyberinfrastructure. Also, students may be required to have a faculty sponsor; generally, an email from a faculty member would suffice.More Information
